聖神降臨是他第五個下降，耶穌第五次的來我們的門，這個聖像畫的整個結構是一個開放式的，整個事件被放置在高且寬的場景中。「寬大的樓廳」宛如整個宇宙和教會是在聖神的權下。它所描述的元素是分成上下兩個部分，上層是象徵著屬神的空間且由曼朵拉發出聖神的火，下層是在一個大的房間內，十二位宗徒圍坐在半圓形排列的椅子上，是一個和諧與共融的團體。這個由內向外開放式的半圓形也表達了聖神降臨事件的本質，共融成為合一的泉源。重建了在罪惡中引起的分散，如巴貝耳塔象徵。從這個角度來看，聖神降臨的聖像畫啟示了教會合一的奧跡。
